Performance Video's Recording Location

Where to record your live performance?

  • Gig – Although typically live performances are recorded at a suitable gig, that does not necessarily have to be the only venue.  In several situations we have captured live performances at YGWYPF Studio or
  • Band’s Regular Rehearsal Studio – There are advantages to each – energy and crowd interaction at a gig; comfort and familiarity with your own rehearsal space.  With two Zoom F6 field recorders, we can record 12 tracks at your rehearsal studio.  Using an ART S8 eight channel microphone splitter we can capture your vocals on the way to your board and have isolated vocals tracks.  With a variety of microphones and direct boxes we can capture your performance in the comforts of your own studio!
  • YGWYPF Studio – we can host your band!  We’ll record all tracks with the Behringer X32

Here are video excerpts from performance’s recorded at three different venues – a small club, Manley’s Irish Pub, Indianapolis, Indiana; a medium size music venue (1,200 capacity), Riverfront Live, Cincinnati, Ohio; and an outdoor concert venue, Carmel Gazebo Concert Series, Carmel, Indiana.

Band's Rehearsal Studio

Here are video excerpts from two bands that were recorded in their rehearsal studio.

Johnny & The Piledrivers – All instruments were mic’d and fed directly to the Zoom F6 XLR inputs.  The vocals and acoustic guitar captured by the ART S8 Mic Splitter – one signal to their board and the other to the Zoom F6 XLR inputs.  All video filmed in 4K.

Roughouse – All instruments were mic’d and fed directly to the Zoom F6 XLR inputs.  The vocals were captured by the ART S8 Mic Splitter – one signal to their board and the other to the Zoom F6 XLR inputs. Most video filmed in 4K.

YGWYPF Studio

Here are video excerpts from three bands that were recorded in the YGWYPF studio.  (Note: the recordings were before the studio remodel, and with earlier cameras that were not 4K.)

Red RabbitAll I Want For Christmas was a planned recording, however I Heard It Through the Grapevine was an impromptu…I’ll turn on a few cameras during a band rehearsal.

Chasing Katie – the band was in the studio to record a 12 song demo and in the course of session we decided to turn on some cameras and capture their recording performance.  (You can hear excerpts from all songs in the Audio section of this website) Check out more about Chasing Katie on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/ChasingKatieIndy/.

Roughouse – the band was in the studio to record a five song demo, with video capturing each performance.  Check out more about Roughouse on their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100052710938975.
